Frequently Asked Questions About Hidden Valley RV Park
A Little Piece of Country in San Antonio
There's always one question we missed! If so, please contact us at our San Antonio RV Park and we'd be happy to answer it for you!
Q. How many people are included with our campsite fees?
A. 2 adults are included with the site fees listed. Children 4 and under are free.
Additional people (adults or children) are at the additional rates listed on our Rates page.
Q. Do you have tent camping?
A. No
Q. Can we put a tent up on our campsite with our RV?
A. In most cases, no, however during the off season, May 1 through September 30, we may be able to make an exception on some of the sites. Please ask when reserving.
Q. Is there a maximum number of people allowed on a campsite or in a cabin?
A. We have an 6 person family campsite maximum. Additional families require an additional campsite.
And of course our extra person fees apply to all people over the 2 adults included in the
campsites fees.
Q. Do you allow pets?
A. Yes, Hidden Valley is a pet-friendly campground, as long as you abide by ourpet policies in our campground rules.
Q. What happens if I make a reservation and something happens that I can't come?
A. Please call us as soon as possible so we don't turn away another guest unneccesarily. Refer to our cancellation policies.
Q. Do you allow pop-ups?
A. We do allow them. Our restroom and shower facility is located 400 feet from the camping area. You may drive or walk to this facility.
Q. Do you have campsites long enough that I don't have to unhook my tow car or 5th wheel if I'm
just staying overnight?
A. Yes we do. Request one of our pull throughs if you want to park a huge motorhome and tow trailer, or 5th wheel without having to unhook.
Q. Do you have WIFI? If so, what's the charge?
A. Yes, we have FREE wifi at each campsite. We ask that you be considerate of your neighbors also using the service by not downloading very large files, music or movies since they tend to "hog" the bandwidth and can shut down the system temporarily. Request an access code when you arrive.
Q. Do you have open campsites (little or no trees) so my rooftop satellite system will work?
A. Yes, we do. (campsite numbers 28-31, 22-24 and numbers 3-6). Please ask for a satellite appropriate site if desired at the time of reservation.
Q. Do you have cable TV?
A. Unfortunately cable TV is not available in our neck of the woods yet. If you have a satellite dish and service you can access satellite TV. If your dish is on top of your rig make sure to mention that when you reserve so we can save a site that has no obstructions (trees) to your dish.
Q. Do you have pull-through campsites with 50 amp service for big rigs?
A. Yes, however, there is an additional fee for use of the 50 amp service. Please see our campsite rates page for details.
Q. Can groups or clubs get a discount, and what is the charge for using the Clubhouse facilities or the Bonfire Cove Community Use area?
A. Clubs & Groups may either use a discount club membership we accept OR receive a 15% discount. There is no charge for use of the Bonfire Cove, it's screened, shade rooms, chairs, BBQ area, firewood, or bonfire ring. However, groups or clubs must schedule their use times around any previously planned activities in the Cove. The same is true of the Hidden Valley Clubhouse.
Q. I did an online reservation, how soon will I hear from someone to confirm my reservation?
A. Generally within 24 hours of submitting your reservation request. If you have not heard back from
us in 48 hours, please contact us via Email or call us at 210-623-6737 just in case the computers are having a bad day.
Q. I left a phone message and no one called me back!
A. Ouch, we HATE that. Unfortunately, sometimes we get messages that are garbled, have too much outside noise, or no call back number was left. If you haven't received a call back, something is wrong. It is our policy to answer our phone immediately unless we're helping another guest or on another call. In those cases we call back asap, always the same day. If we goof please accept our apology and call us or Email us again. Thank You!
Q. How many vehicles can I park at my campsite? Can I park tow dollies, secondary trailers or boats on my campsite?
A. One vehicle is allowed at each site. An additional vehicle may visit. If the size of the site allows, you may have an additional vehicle for a small fee. Please consult the rates page. Sorry, but we do not allow boats on your campsite. We do have a storage/parking area, that you may use for a small additional charge (varies-please inquire.)
Q. Do we need a license to fish in the creek?
A. No license is required to fish in the Medio. However, all fishing regulations set out by the Texas Parks and wildlife are enforced regarding number of fish and size of fish you may keep. No trot or bush lines, please.
Q. Can we swim in the creek?
A. Swimming is not recommended due to critters who make their homes there and may not approve of sharing it with us. Also, due to fishing there, the creek bottom is likely littered with fishing hooks which present a safety hazard to swimmers.
Q. Can we gather firewood to use?
A. You may gather downed logs or kindling or feel free to use firewood from the Bonfire Cove Community Use area. Please ask before burning as Texas often enforces a burn ban due to dry conditions. Burn only in containers at your site.
Q. Can the kids ride bikes in the park?
A. Yes, we allow bicycling on our roadways, but we require all children under 12 to wear a helmet, that they follow all street signs (including stop signs and speed limit). We strongly recommend that all bicyclists wear helmets, but they are not required for anyone 12 and over.
Q. Do you get bears or other dangerous wildlife in your park?
A. No bears. But the outer perimeter of the acreage has seen many large and potentially dangerous wildlife. Although beautiful, even deer can be dangerous when they feel threatened. Using good hiking and camping practices is generally all that is required to protect yourself from unwanted furry friends looking to score an easy meal. By taking your garbage to the dumpster (located on the SW corner of the RV area) at the end of each day and never keeping or storing food in the open, you help to discourage our furry friends from looking for free meals.
Q. What should we do in the event of a weather emergency?
A. Our emergency plan is listed at the registration booth. You may seek shelter at our home if the situation warrants, or receive a refund if you choose to leave due to a storm. We have a special method to communicate with our guests in cases of emergency or just informational messages. Visit wifirvfriends.com for information. Also please make sure we have your email address as a means of emergency contact.
Q. What should we do if our camping neighbors are being noisy, disruptive, or inappropriate?
A. Call or come to the office and report them if it is normal operating hours. If it is after hours, call and leave a detailed message, we check our messages often even after hours.
